If there’s one thing I can talk about all day long, it’s trends + how to wear ’em…

I’m so beyond excited to announce that I’ve partnered with Dove + SIMPLY to share 2018’s trending colors – recently announced by fashion trend forecasting agency, Fashion Snoops – how to style them and what *not* to do when venturing into new color territory.

In case you haven’t heard, spring has sprung people! And with a new season comes new color trends. Before I break down some of my favs, we need to talk about rule number one when opting for those pops of pinks and hues of blues…three words: white. deodorant. marks.

Dun dun dun!! Literally, is there anything worse or more embarrassing? I mean, probably. But it’s 2018 and in this day and age, we’ve got life savers like Dove Invisible Dry Spray so we don’t have to worry about those faux pas visible white marks.

The beauty of Dove Invisible Dry Spray is that it’s invisible on ONE HUNDRED colors. Included in those hundred colors are a few of my favs that will be huge this year; flirt (a poppy pink), power red (a hue that needs no introduction) and marigold (think Michelle Williams, Oscars circa 2006). Check out the rest of the colors here.

The tips + tricks to incorporating these bold brights into your wardrobe are simple:

  1. Start Subtle. Pick out one colorful, stand-out piece and pair it with neutrals. Aka, if you’re opting for a bright pink sweater like I did, throw it on with some denim (yes, denim’s a neutral!) and a pair of fun heels or flats for an easy, wardrobe refresher.
  2. Keep It in the Fam. No, I don’t mean wear mom’s hand-me-downs (unless they’re like, chic and vintage) – but if you’re wanting to color block a bit, keep it in the same color family. I love pairing pinks with reds (forever inspired by Emma Stone at the Friends With Benefits Premiere…Google it!).
  3. Dress It Up. An easy way to add color into your wardrobe is to do so via a dress. You can literally throw it on, add a nude or black shoe and go. It really doesn’t get easier!

I am trying to wear more colors by adding one piece at a time like you recommend but often I go back to the basics lol
This pink knit is so beautiful on you and has definitely inspired me to be more bold with colors!

You have the best colored outfits especially with the bold red! I love pink and red together and you are right on trend with these color combinations. Deodorant and antiperspirant aren’t things we usually discuss when putting outfits together but as the weather warms up we will all be wearing some in addition to spring trends and color. I haven’t used Dove before but I like that it is a spray on so that you don’t feel like it’s heavy against your skin. I will have to give it a try. xoxo, Christine

Oooohhh…Keyma and Dove in the same post?! Yassss! I have been a fan of Dove for years, ever since I saw what wonders their soap did for my dry skin. I also use their regular roll on from time to time and I have not yet tried their dry spray. I can only imagine it being just as good as everything else!
