Where do I begin? You guys. Japan was everything…
Everything I could have imagined. The fashion was everything Gwen Stefani + her Harajuku girls told us about. The food was better than what I imagine Jiro’s sushi to taste like. But better, so much better than all of the pop culture references I had to go off of.
So much so that after a full week there, I really wasn’t ready to leave. I wasn’t ready to leave the bustling streets of Shibuya, the quiet gardens of Shinjuku, the sweet people on the trains to Ikebukuro that I was sardined up against everyday, the crazy karaoke bars of Ni-chōme, the serene onsens of Nikko, our daily coffee shop in Omotesando, or the incredible (and I mean, incredible) food that was literally everywhere; the ramen, sushi, curry, rice balls…more rice balls…oh, and mochi too.
Below are pics from our day-trip to Kamakura; one of the oldest cities in Japan + exploring the streets of Harajuku and the NYC vibes of Yoyogi Park.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post where I’ll break down in detail the must-sees, must-dos + must-eats of Tokyo!
