Last week, I was lucky enough to experience a Joanna Vargas facial. Seriously, pinch me. Just not on my face, because honestly…I’m GLOWING.
Having spent the last decade on nearly every major red carpet, I’m no stranger to the name Joanna Vargas. From Power Peels to Purifying Facials, JV has always been the name my A-list talent list as their pre-carpet ritual. I’ve always wondered – what are these facials all about?! And now, I GET IT.
As if walking into The Sunset Tower Hotel isn’t cool enough, walking into the Joanna Vargas salon was not only cool – it was HEAVEN. The space was stunning. The staff, incredible. My facialist, Brenda took me to the treatment room to get started. IT WAS ALL HAPPENING!
Prior to my appointment, I decided to go with their signature treatment, the Triple Crown Facial. It’s a mix of microdermabrasion, microcurrent, and oxygen-infused therapy to refine, lift and tone. Honestly the goal is to have cheekbones like Bella Hadid, and I felt like this was going to get me one step closer. I digress!
I changed into my cute JV robe (and if we’re being honest, obviously took some selfies in the mirror with my new #ootd), and Brenda started working her magic. As she started with the microdermabrasion, I naturally asked a million questions. Here’s what I learned: Vitamin C and Retinol counteract one another. I’ve been using both together for YEARS. She recommended I start using the Vitamin C Rescue Serum in the am, and retinol in the pm. She also mentioned that I have very mild rosacea on my cheeks (which explains A LOT) and recommended using more rosehip oil in my nightly routine.
At this point, she had started to perform the microcurrent on half of my face and handed me a mirror. I WAS HALF OF BELLA. Ok, I wasn’t. But the one half of my face was immediately more lifted and much more defined. The results were IMMEDIATE.
We continued with the microcurrent so my old face would look like my new face and this process in and of itself is worth every penny – and did I mention, totally painless?
Lastly, we wrapped everything up with an oxygen treatment – again, totally painless. And totally relaxing. Afterwards, she applied the Joanna Vargas Rejuvenating Serum which feels like silk on your skin (and smells BEYOND) and the Daily Hydrating Cream which made my skin GLOW. I’ve been using these two products daily since my appointment and honestly for the first time I feel like my complexion is so much more even, and I feel so glowy that I’ve been going makeup free!
